DWR Advisory

Fish, win and make memories at the annual Uintah Basin Fishing Contest! The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, in partnership with Vernal's The Fox 98.5 FM radio station, holds this annual family-friendly fishing contest to encourage anglers — near and far — to fish at designated Uintah Basin waterbodies. Grab your fishing tackle, make sure to bring along your valid Utah fishing or combination license (for anglers 12 and older) and get outside for fun days on the water. The 2026 DWR WIN tags are yellow and the lakes are: Big Sand Wash Reservoir(rainbows), East Park Reservoir(rainbows) and Spirit Lake(tiger trout). *Use EXTRA CAUTION this year and please do not drive on the lake bed. The water levels at this water body will most likely remain extremely low. See our Eventbrite page for contest details and instructions on how to enter your yellow tag in the prize drawing before Aug. 6.

East Park Reservoir sits high in the Uinta Mountains above Duchesne and is a quality Rainbow Trout fishery with stunning scenery. Popular with campers and anglers exploring the western Uintas.
