Northern and Eurasian watermilfoil have become the dominate submerged vegetation in Pelican Lake. All thick weed mats forming near the inlet canal and pump stations are this noxious weed. Boaters can easily spread this weed to our other waters. PLEASE pay extra attention to cleaning off all the weeds on your boat and trailer before leaving Pelican Lake.
Pelican Lake south of Vernal is nationally recognized for trophy-sized Bluegill, with fish exceeding 10 inches common. Rainbow Trout are also stocked seasonally. Easy shore fishing makes it a top family destination.

Fishing Regulations
UpdatedPlease consult the 2023 Utah Fishing Regulations for more information. Largemouth Bass- 6 fish limit. Bluegill- 15 fish but only 5 may be over 7 inches in total length. Tiger Muskie - 1 fish over 40" all fish under 40" must be immediately released; please use proper catch and release techniques with this species. Common carp- must kill; anglers are required to remove carp from the system if caught by legal means. Black Bullhead Catfish - 50 fish limit.
