Strawberry Reservoir

Strawberry Reservoir is Utah's premier Blue Ribbon trout fishery — a 17,000-acre high-country reservoir at 7,606 feet elevation, about 23 miles southeast of Heber City. The reservoir supports wild Bonneville Cutthroat Trout alongside heavily stocked Rainbow Trout, with Brown Trout holding in the deeper channels and Kokanee Salmon running best through the summer months. Spring and fall are peak season for rainbow trout, when DWR plants tens of thousands of fish per week across multiple stocking events. Cutthroat fishing is productive year-round — though special slot-limit regulations apply and anglers are strongly encouraged to voluntarily release all cutthroat to protect the wild population. Boat access is excellent with multiple ramps along the north shore, and shore fishing is productive along the dam face and near the inlet arms. The adjacent Strawberry Forebay, just one mile away, is a separate and often overlooked fishery worth combining into any trip.
